Wed 28/11/12 - Loch Ness Tour

Heräsin Susannan kanssa ennen seitsemää aamulla ja kävelimme keskustaan, missä nousimme Rabbie's -logolla varustettuun pikkubussiin ja lähdimme Skotlannin ylämaille. Sää suosi meitä koko päivän! Harmillista, että kuvista ei voi ikinä käydä kunnolla ilmi, kuinka mahtavia maisemia näimme! Ihmissilmä on upea asia.

Susanna and I woke up before seven o'clock in the morning and walked to the town centre where we got on a minibus with a Rabbie's logo on it and off we were to the Scottish highlands. The weather was kind to us the entire day! It's a shame that photos will never properly tell how incredible landscapes we saw! Human eye is a magnificent thing.

Pysähdyimme melko tiheään ottamaan valokuvia. (Luulemme, että kuski oli freelance-valokuvaaja.) Mutta ei haitannut, että saimme jaloitella säännöllisesti. Ja maisemat olivat joka suhteessa mahtavia!

We stopped quite frequently for photos. (We think the driver was freelance photographer.) We didn't mind  since we got to walk regularly. And the scenery was all round fabulous! 

 Oli hieman vilpoista, mutta aurinko tosiaan paistoi lähes koko ajan. //

It was quite chilly but the sun shone pretty much all the time.

Here's an example how pathetic a camera lens can be: This cliff was enormous.

 Täällä "he" kuvasivat yhden otoksen lentävästä Ford Angliasta. Ne, jotka eivät tiedä lentävästä Ford Angliasta, lopettakaa blogin lukeminen välittömästi ja lukekaa Harry Potter ja Salaisuuksien kammio - nyt! Näimme myös paikan, missa Hagridin maja sijaitsi. //

Here "they" filmed one scene of the flying Ford Anglia. Those who don't know about the flying Ford Anglia, stop reading the blog immediately and read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - now! We also saw the spot where Hagrid's hut was located.

Fort Augustuksessa, Loch Nessin rannalla, minua hieman hermostutti, milloin Nessie hyökkää kimppuun. //

In Fort Augustus, by Loch Ness, I was a little nervous of the Nessie attacking me.

Mutta tämän lähemmäs hirviötä emme valitettavasti päässeet. Koska pyyhe jäi Edinburghiin, en tohtinut mennä uimaan - ja sen lisäksi vesi oli jäätävää! //

But unfortunately this was the closest we got to the the monster. Because I left my towel in Edinburgh, I couldn't go swimming - and the water was freezing!

On the way back we still saw quite magnificent places. Here (=below) Loch Oich.

 Susanna soitti ovikelloakin, mutta kukaan ei tullut meille avaamaan. //
Susanna even tried the doorbell but no one opened the door for us.

Ja viimeisessä kuvassa ollaankin taas takaisin Edinburghissa. Täällä on paikoittain melko hienoja jouluvaloja. Kävimme päivän päätteeksi vielä pyörähtämässä Edinburghin Hard Rock Cafessa. Se oli aika pieni. //

And in the last photo we are back in Edinburgh again. There are quite brilliant Christmas lights in some places. At the end of the day we stopped by at Edinburgh's Hard Rock Cafe. It was quite small.
